Before cleaning your silver, you need to determine whether it is genuine silver or silver plate. Sterling silver will generally have a little stamp somewhere on the piece identifying it as silver rather than merely silver plated.
Dish soap may be used to clean clothes or to repel wasps, and it also works well as a DIY silver jewelry.
Place approximately 10 drops of any Dish Soap in a small glass or jar, then fill with warm, not boiling, water. Carefully set your jewelry in the jar for 15 minutes to soak.
After that, remove the silver items from the basin and begin polishing them with the fiber cloth. You’ll notice that the filth and grime start to wash away. If an item is very filthy, let it in the mixture for a bit longer before removing it for polishing jewelry cleaning.
